LIHUE — The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) provided an update on the resurfacing work and upgrades to the Wailua and Puhi play courts.
The recreational play courts at the Wailua Homesteads and the Wailua Houselots are estimated to be completed earlier than anticipated, except for the Puhi Park courts in Lihue.
Wailua Homestead Park is reported to be completed by Feb. 14, and the Wailua Houselots Park is estimated to be completed on March 7.
Pacific Concrete Cutting & Coring, Inc., will complete the Puhi Park play courts a month behind schedule on June 13.
All construction work is dependent on the weather. The closures are part of the county’s $3.1 million Playcourt Resurfacing Project.
DOPR thanks the public for their patience and understanding. For more information regarding these projects, contact Kylan Dela Cruz at 808-241-4927.
