LIHUE — West Side road closures are scheduled to begin today and run throughout the end of the week.
In Eleele, the Department of Public Works and the contractor, Insituform Technologies, LLC, have scheduled road closures for Eleele Road, between Kaumualii Highway to the intersection of Melemele Road and Eleele Road. Along with closures on Melemele Road, between the intersection of Eleele Road to Melemele Road and a portion of Uliuli Road near Ulaula Road and Akala Road for necessary asphalt concrete sewer work.

In Kekaha, the Department of Public Works and the contractor, Maui Kupono Builders, have also scheduled a one-lane closure for a portion of Kekaha Road, between Akialoa Road to Amakihi Road, for resurfacing work.
Work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. Construction work is dependent on the weather.

West Side residents and motorists are advised to make proper accommodations and allow extra time to get to their destinations. During construction hours there will be no parking allowed in the work zones.
Flaggers will be positioned to direct traffic and allow area residents partial access through the closure.
