Jaime Keoki Dianne Pearl Mikami
Dianne Pearl Mikami, of Kapaa, left this world on Dec. 9, 2024, peacefully in her sleep. Born and raised in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, in 1939.
In 1957, she enlisted in the U.S. Army WAC Division, were she served in the Chemical Warfare Engineer Department in Germany and Fort Dix, New Jersey. In 1959, while serving in the Military, she was crowned Ms. World Fort Dix. After a short stint in the Army, Dianne moved to Hawaii with her husband and father of her three baby girls, Stanley Seigel. Upon arriving in Hawaii, she loved it so much she stayed and never left.
During her early years in Hawaii, Dianne made a career working in radio advertising for Waipahu’s Country Radio Station, KAHU Radio. The early 70s found her falling in love with a local boy, Russell Mikami, whom she married, and they raised their beautiful daughters among many family and friends in Waipahu, Hawaii. In the late 70s, she found her calling working as a dispatcher for the Honolulu Police Department. After her girls were grown, her next chapter in her life brought her to Kauai. She helped establish Kong Radio Station and then became a major role in FM97. Dianne was responsible for many FM97 radio contests including creating FM97’s Catch a Rising Star, FM97’s Super Bowl Party, and everyone’s favorite FM97’s Halloween Party.
Unfortunately, the years caught up with her, and she took an early retirement in both her job and her life.
Preceded in death by mother Mary Ellen and father Simon Reeds.
Dianne left behind three daughters Marty Jean (Guy) Fukushima of Waipahu, Hawaii, Michelle Emily Mikami of Kapaa, Hawaii, Dorothy “Didi” (Michael) Gordon of Lawai, Hawaii, nine grandchildren Russ Fukushima, Ric Fukushima, Amanda Sarono, Ashley Mikami, Mikeal Mikami, Ward Mikami, Cody Mikami, David Elms, Kiana Esaka, 18 great-grandchildren and brother Steven (Shirley) Reynolds of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, who will carry on her memories.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. at Ohana Fellowship Kapaa, behind the Kapaa Fire Station, then around 1 p.m., join family and friends at Fuji Beach to scatter her ashes.

Jaime Keoki Mikiala Malama
Jaime Keoki Mikiala Malama, 58, of Kekaha, passed away on Jan. 15, 2025, in Kekaha. He was born on Sept. 22, 1966, in Waimea. He was an electrician.
He was preceded in death by father Patrick T. Malama.
He is survived by Alisa Malama, son Nakoa (Kai-Lee) Malama, daughters Brandee (Sheldon) Soto, Byrlynn (Shane) Malama, grandchildren Camron Soto, Michael Soto, Kainalu Cabral, Kamaehu Cabral, Kaliko Kenney, mother Pinky Malama, brother Patrick “Kanani” Malama of Waimea, sisters Roberta “Pua” (Chucky) Remata of Kekaha, Raenette (Alton) Lopez of Kekaha, Jackie (Preston) Lee of Kekaha, Lolly (Mel) Malama of Kekaha, Desiree (Daniel) Kittredge of Waimea, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by service from 1 to 2 p.m.
Kenneth Kiyokazu Ishii
Kenneth Kiyokazu Ishii (Uncle Kenny),72, of Kapaa, passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Dec. 31, 2024.
Kenny was preceded in passing by his parents Kenneth and Marian Ishii, son Ryan Ishii, sister Dawn Ishii, brothers Douglas Ishii and Michael Ishii.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jane Sullivan, his son Lukas Ishii, sisters Colleen (Mike) Ishii, Terry Agno, Ione Ishii, brother Peter (Mary) Ishii, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Kenny was creator/operator of Ono Family Restaurant in Kapaa for many decades and retired in 2020. His passions were community service and uniting/connecting people. His creative mind was always active and he eagerly shared his ideas with anyone willing to listen. He treated everyone like family, making each person he met feel known and cherished, as if they had been lifelong friends. Kenny truly embodied a true spirit of aloha.
In lieu of traditional tributes like donations to charity, flowers, or planting trees in Kenny’s memory, we kindly request that you instead help someone in need in our community.
A paddle out for family and friends will be announced at a later date.

Anastacia Narito Villanueva
Anastacia Narito Villanueva, of Kapa‘a, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 4, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born in Lahaina, Maui, on Dec. 21, 1931. Affectionately known as “Ann,“ she resided on O‘ahu for nearly 50 years. She retired from nursing and moved to Kaua‘i in 1997.
Preceded in death by her parents Mariano Narito, Leoncia Julian Narito and husband Feladis “Val” Villanueva.
Ann is survived by her 8 children Stephen Villanueva, Susan (Randy) Oshita, Matthew Villanueva, Valerie (Matthew) Murphy, Christine (John) Wilcox, Lisa (Arthur Betos) Villanueva, Roman Villanueva, Stacey (Brian) Sweeney, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was a devout member of St. Catherine parish, Kapa‘a. Her favorite pastime in recent years was playing mahjong on her iPad.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at St. Catherine Church, Kapa‘a beginning with visitation from 9 a.m. and the funeral liturgy celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.
