Kudos to the Kauai Chamber of Commerce, Laurie Yoshida, and Stephanie Iona of the Kekaha Agriculture Association for hosting the sold-out Pau Hana event on Tuesday where the island’s legislative team was joined by newly elected Big Island Mayor Kimo Alameda and Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke at the Kauai Philippine Cultural Center. The Pau Hana event comes just two days before the Kauai Chamber of Commerce big general membership meeting that’s being sponsored by Wilcox Health at the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort.

The Shops at Kukuiula hosts its annual Keiki Bash on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Palm Court area near Leong’s where keiki can meet Santa for a donation of five canned goods, or a $10 cash donation that benefits the Kauai Independent Food Bank Holiday Food Drive. Keiki can indulge in decorating gingerbread cookies, make s’mores and engage in a “fun” scavenger hunt.
And on Saturday, for the first time since COVID-19 shut everything down, Kauai Coffee is interrupting the busy harvesting season to host its Open House at the Kauai Coffee Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is free, and Santa will be available for photos (don’t forget to bring your camera, or smart phone) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hi‘ipoi will be providing the unique Niihau stylings and sound, and the Koloa Senior Center Ukulele Group will take over when Hi‘ipoi takes a break to go check out the Ugly Sweater Contest.
Free mini farm tours are available to go along with the guessing games and scavenger hunt, and of course, check out the specials in the gift shop.
