LIHUE — Six of seven Kauai County Council members were endorsed for another term, while a former councilor was welcomed back into the fold by voters in the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Bernard P. Carvalho Jr., Mel Rapozo, KipuKai Kualii, Addison Bulosan, Felicia Cowden and Ross Kagawa were each reelected to another two-year term.
Former County Council member Arryl J. Kaneshiro rejoined the governing body, according to a tally released by the Hawaii Office of Elections on Wednesday morning, Nov. 6.
But one current member, Billy DeCosta, finished out of the running. The presence of Kaneshiro in the race left little doubt a sitting member of the council would be left on the outside looking in, particularly after Kaneshiro finished third in the Primary Election on Aug. 10.
