Spam musubi and half moon (apple!) were perfect pick-me-up after the preseason cross-county races at Island School … Coach Dean Nonaka (senior softball season is pau, already) said Coach Kell’s son is running cross-country, too.

Marlene Duarte of Grove Farm said Isaiah (Papa Ferdinand was doing the “Big Fire” thing with a batch of ribs) of Kauai Kim Chee is going to try out the pizza wagon for September … Grove Farm is bringing back the Craft Fair component on the first Saturday in October (it’s an even-numbered month). Marlene said there should be a new Philly sandwich guy coming to the market on Saturday.
OK, don’t forget to drop in on Grace Delos Reyes and the Office of Elderly Affairs, which is hosting their annual Day of Service (911 Patriots Day) to pay tribute to the first responders and fire people … gotta squeeze that in between the Presidential Debate on Sept. 10 and the “training.”
‘Nuff said … time to check out the Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center (what? The market manager for the Hanapepe Friday Night Art was on property on Saturday?) … maybe the Kauai Society of Artists will be setting up for the Art Kauai exhibit that opens on Friday.
