LIHU‘E — The Rookies TKO’d the East Kaua‘i Legends, 16-1, Saturday, May 20, to remain at the top of the Kaua‘i Senior Softball overall standings with 15 wins and one loss.
The defending champion of the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league meets the Hanamaulu Hillsiders, Saturday, May 27, at Peter Rayno Park in Hanamaulu when the first pitch goes at 9 a.m.
Over at Isenberg Park, where the 70s division games were rained out, Friday, May 19, the Keonimana Gents will face Makos when the first pitch goes at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 27.
“The standings are showing a lot of competition within three separate brackets,” said J.C. Crouch of the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league. “However, as they say, ‘On any given day,’ … so it makes for fun games each week.”
Crouch was appreciative of the weather that cleared starting late Friday, which enabled the league to get in a full slate of games on Saturday, May 20.
“Unfortunately, the 70s folks weren’t as lucky as Isenberg Park was under water, Friday,” he said.
The 70s division games next play Friday, May 26, at Isenberg with games scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
The 60s division games play Saturday, May 27, at Peter Rayno Park in Hanamaulu and Isenberg Park. First pitch at both sites go off starting at 9 a.m.
