Jade Nakamoto is fundraising for her pa‘u unit during the Leina‘ala pop-up at the Kukui Marketplace on Saturday. Nakamoto will be representing Kaho‘olawe on June 10 when the King Kamehameha Day Celebration opens with a parade from Vidinha Stadium to the Historic County Building in Lihu‘e.

Kaua‘i Quilt Show organizers Toni Wass, left, and Lea Ingram said there’re a lot of Donation Quilts available as the popular show enters its final week at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e. Proceeds from the sale of Donation Quilts go toward the purchaser’s choice of any of 10 local nonprofits including Child & Family Service Kaua‘i, the Kaua‘i Food Bank, Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity, Kaua‘i Hospice, Kaua‘i Humane Society, YWCA of Kaua‘i Women’s Shelter, Kumu’s Cupboard, Toys For Tots, Kaua‘i Historical Society and Kaua‘i Museum.

Edie Ignacio Neumiller (she went to the Deslynn Jaquias book signing at Dark Horse Coffee in Koloa on Sunday!) scored a couple of jewel tone tops from the Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala pop-up that closed Sunday afternoon.
