Raina Santos, front left, and Michelle Panoke, front right, of the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i, accept a contribution from the Judiciary Fifth Circuit Court representatives on Thursday, the proceeds from a fundraising bake sale hosted by the courthouse ‘ohana during Halloween. The foodbank, in collaboration with Safeway stores, Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association, Miss Kaua‘i USA, Kaua‘i High School and Kapa‘a High School student programs, are hosting a Nourishing Neighbors Campaign on Saturday at the Safeway stores at Hokulei Village Shopping Center in Puhi and Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center in Waipouli.

Louise Nguyem chomps down on an Amy Chung jabong (“buoi” in Vietnamese; “pomelo” in English) on Monday while waiting on the cowbell signaling the start of the Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.

Kudos, Lexi Jones and the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market on hosting Danell Sugioka and the Project Vision (is masking the mobile hot shower like the O‘ahu unit going to help?) and FilCOM CARES as a preview of the two-day Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week event that takes place starting Wednesday at The Salvation Army Hanapepe Corps (they have free hot Thanksgiving meals coming up on Nov. 23, too!).
