The Zonta Club of Kaua‘i, in support of two of its members who are with the Committee on the Status of Women, wear pink to their club’s meeting, Thursday. The Committee on the Status of Women will be present Saturday during the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market.

Another sign of October is the flashing of the pink sweat cloth and mouthpiece from Hanapepe Colts’ quarterback Tyler Aranio, Sunday during the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League games played at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park stadium.

“Kumu sent us,” said Keone Tango, center, who along with Meiya Ramos, left, and Kailana Kanahele, right, of Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala performed for Shizue Sakihama’s 100th birthday at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala will also be appearing at the Kaua‘i Chocolate and Coffee Festival that opens Oct. 14 and 15 in Hanapepe.

October is here and so are the witches that appeared at Ainofea in the Kukui Grove Center. More ghouls, goblins, and Halloween characters will be appearing when Aloha Dance Studios present the annual Freaky Friday starting Oct. 14.
