The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Governor Margo Dutton is introduced to the Kiwanis Club of Kaua‘i Distinguished Service Awardee Mark Oyama by Kiwanis Club of Kaua‘i President Cheryl Shintani, Tuesday during the Kiwanis Club of Kaua‘i’s July meeting at the Puakea Grill. Rex Acosta cleans the grave of World War I veteran Operiano Acaba, Wednesday, at the Puhi Cemetary restoration project where another World War I veteran, Dionicio Ibis, was found during the cleanup work by Acosta, Alton Amimoto (his grandparents are buried there), Dean Agustin (his grandfather and Acosta’s grandfather are buried there), and Dean Kuboyama that has spanned more than 10 years on weekly Wednesday outings behind the Kawaikini New Century Public Charter School.
