The Waimea Easter Seals gang visited not only the Colonel at KFC, but continued to the Kukui Grove Center on their field trip coordinated by the Hawai‘i Self Advocacy Advisory Council to make stops at Ho’s Chinese Kitchen (yes, lemon chicken counts!), and got the bonus of creating gyotaku and getting free temporary tattoos from the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intern Abigail Seibel is getting excited about the free coding workshop coming up Sunday for youth 8 to 12 years old.
Happy birthday Lyrica Musni of Hawai‘i USA Federal Credit Union who was the center of attention with all the award presentations going on Morgan Lopez (Wes Perreira said the Hot Guava Jelle is really good) said her dad’s Doug’s Dugout in the Pi‘ikoi Building is scheduled to reopen,July 15…are we going to have ginger lemonade after more than two years? And, fried chicken? No, it’s after National Fried Chicken Day.
Kudos to the massive Puhi Cemetary restoration project being done by Rex Acosta (good thing the stock market was still going during the Hawai‘i USA FCU award presentations), Alton Amimoto, Dean Agustin and Dean Kuboyama who found the two World War I veteran graves (one was being threatened by the invasive albesia trees) in the Puhi Cemetery. Mahalo for your service, Opriano Acaba and Dionicio Ibis! Rex said they need help deciphering Japanese kanji from a grave with deteriorating concrete so they can figure out who it is before the concrete crumbles away.
OK, time to go check out the postal job availability at the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market this Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
