LIHUE — Kaua‘i High School junior Emma Burgess dominated the distance runs, getting voted to the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation Track All Stars in the 800, 1500, and 3000 Meter runs.
Island School senior Ella Offley also secure three of the Girls All Stars berths in the 100 and 200 Meter dashes, and being part of the Voyager 400 Meter Relay team.
Kapa‘a High School’s Jodimarie Woodward netted two berths, in the Discus and Shot Put classeds, and freshman Kanoe Haneberg was voted to the 100 Meter High Hurdles and the Long Jump.
During the KIF track and field season, Island School girls finished the year in first place on 175 points followed by the Kapa‘ girls at 113 points.
On the boys’ track that was won by the Kapa‘a boys at 131 points, just six points ahead of Island School boys at 125 points, Warrior freshman Nash Burkart dominated the KIF voting by securing three spots, two in field events, and a relay.
The young Warrior secured berths in the Boys Long Jump, Triple Jump, and was part of the Warriors’ 1600 Meter Relay team.
Bruno Likio, a sophomore, secured two field events in the Discus and Shot Put.
Waimea senior Joseph “Joey” Sams also netted two berths, in the 200 Meter Dash, and the anchor leg in the 400 Meter Relay team. His brother Jaiden, a sophomore, netted berths in the 300 Hurdles, and was the opener in the 400 Meter Relay.
Kaua‘i High School senior secured a spot with the High Jump, an event he went on to finish fourth during the state competition.
Cody Manibog was the sole Voyager boy to earn a spot by taking the 100 Meter Dash.
