HANALEI — The Hanalei Canoe Club announced the 40th Ha‘ena to Hanalei Run is Saturday June 4.
The race has only been held once in the last four years due to unforeseen circumstances: The 2018 flood on the North Shore, the landslide that blocked Kuhio Highway and COVID-19. The Ha‘ena to Hanalei Run is actually four races: The half marathon begins and ends at the Hanalei Pier with a turn around at Ha‘ena Beach Park; the eight-mile run/walk begins at Ke‘e Beach; the 5K run and one-mile youth run begin and end at the pier.
The entry fee for the eight-mile run/walk and 5K run is $50 pre-register ($60 on race day). The entry fee for the half marathon is $75 pre-register ($90 on race day). The youth run is $10 for those ages 12 and under. Entry fees include a race T-shirt and pancake breakfast. Register on-line at hanaleicanoeclub.org or pick up a flyer at Hanalei Surf Company in Hanalei, Work It Out in Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i Athletic Club in Lihu‘e, Crossfit in Koloa or Po‘ipu Beach Athletic Club.
