Linda Lou Kelly
Linda Lou Kelly, 74, of Piedmont, Ohio, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the home of her son in Berryville, Virginia.
She was born June 13, 1947 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Herman and Isabelle Marie Pavel Herman.
She married John Robert Kelly Jr. on June 20, 1980, in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was the love of her life. They shared a passion for dance and adventure and, in later life, shared their home with their sweet yorkies Lilo and Raini, and yellow lab Buddy.
At her core, she was a dancer, her talent emerging as a young child. Her family committed to investing in her future with classes far from her home, and her father faithfully drove her to all of them.
Her talent led her to become a Radio City Rockette, an experience she treasured. She shared her love of dance with thousands of children, including her own sons, as a dance instructor for years. Her granddaughter, Kara Grace, and niece Cameron Rose, continue in her footsteps.
She had friends all over the world, and all those who met her instantly were taken in by her smile and generosity. She was quick to hug, say she loved you, and hold your hand as you talked.
Her allegiance was to the Pittsburgh Steelers, followed closely by the William and Mary Tribe and Clarke County High School Eagle football teams. Her heart was in Ohio, Florida and Virginia, with her family, and her soul was in Hawai‘i, where she spent 30 years with dear friends who became family.
She loved all things sparkly and glittery. She was known to dance wherever she went, and gather everyone for a kick line. One of her favorite places to be was on a lanai, sipping wine and sharing a laugh with a friend.
She was a daughter of Christ, a true believer, who shared her love of Jesus in both words and actions. One of her last wishes was to come home because she was ready to be with the Lord.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Shannon Dulaney and his wife, Stephanie, of Berryville, Virginia, and Brock Dulaney and his wife, Niki, of Plant City, Florida, brother Charles Herman and his wife, Magda, of Colliers, West Virginia, and grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Jonathan and Kara Grace Dulaney.
Her sister, Sharon Scott, and grandson, Jonah Dulaney, preceded her in death.
A beyond sparkle celebration of eternal life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, Virginia.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
