PO‘IPU – May 11, 2022 – Koloa Landing Resort today announced Gavin Onishi as its executive chef. Onishi will oversee the preparation, production, development and execution of the resort’s dining outlet, Holoholo Grill, and banquet facilities.
PO‘IPU – May 11, 2022 – Koloa Landing Resort today announced Gavin Onishi as its executive chef. Onishi will oversee the preparation, production, development and execution of the resort’s dining outlet, Holoholo Grill, and banquet facilities.
“We’re happy to welcome chef Gavin to our Koloa Landing ‘ohana,” said Andy Evers, general manager of Koloa Landing Resort. “With his expertise in Pacific Rim cuisine and his love for simple, locally-sourced recipes, we’re confident his experience, knowledge of leadership, training, and management will contribute to the resort’s success.”
Onishi brings more than 25 years of culinary experience and 15 years of leadership support. Prior to joining Koloa Landing Resort, Onishi was the executive chef at Marks Place and Contemporary Flavors Catering in Lihuʻe where he oversaw operations and developed attractive and popular items for the restaurant. He was also sous chef at Kauai Beach Resort in Wailua where he implemented innovative and creative items.
Onishi received an Associates of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Kauai Community College.
