Alperica Galiza Ramento
Alperica Galiza Ramento, 66, of Puhi, passed away at home on April 20, 2022. She was born in Tumauini, Isabela, Philippines, on Jan. 17, 1956, and retired after working 25 years from the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort as a chambermaid.
She was always full of energy and love. She would spend her time crocheting and giving her finished work to her family and friends.
She enjoyed morning walks at Kaua‘i Lagoons and watching the sunrise at Nawiliwili Harbor with her husband, spending time with her grandchildren, and reading the Bible.
She was preceded in death by father Pedro Galiza Sr., siblings Maria Galiza, Delia Galiza and Jose Galiza and niece Jeri Ann Galiza.
She is survived by husband Florencio Ramento, son Shaun Ramento, daughter Karen Ramento, mother Rosita Galiza, grandchildren Kolten Gipolan and Ares Gipolan, siblings Wilmer (Emely) Galiza, Jel “Lito” Galiza, Renato (Marijean) Galiza, Imelda (Gualberto) Honorato, Pedro (Jessica) Galiza Jr. and Divina (Gerald) Rapozo, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, May 7, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Vivian Elena Remata Nonaka
Vivian Elena Remata Nonaka passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her husband, in the comfort of her home in Pakala, the morning of March 1, 2022.
She was preceded in death by father and mother Crisanto and Vicenta Remata, brothers Teodorico (Flora) Remata and Edward (Berna) Remata, sister Sister Florence Remata and grandson Hunter Salvu Thelion Nonaka.
She is survived by husband Alvis T. Nonaka, daughters Nadine T. Silva and Noelle A. (Keusi) Nonaka-Thundah, son Nolan T. Nonaka, seven grandchildren, brothers David (Mercedes) Remata, Stanley (Norma) Remata, Richard Remata, Wildfred Remata, Lawrence (Donna) Remata and Patrick Remata, sisters Mildred (Bernardo) Olores and Elizabeth (Pat) Aquino, and numerous generations of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be remembered as a woman who lived her every day with pure aloha in her heart, her feisty spirit and as Alvis’ “Silver Fox,” his “darling.”
A memorial service is Saturday, April 30, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., eulogy at 10 a.m., and Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Abraham Keola Huddy
Abraham Keola Huddy passed away on April 15, 2022, at the age of 70. He was born in Lihu‘e on June 21, 1951, and retired from state Department of Education as a custodian at Kapa‘a Middle School.
He was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Mable Huddy and brother Thomas Huddy.
He is survived by his significant other Wanda Ibia, children Shani (Leslie Oride) Saito, Jake Huddy and Kaulana (Keola) Efhan, brothers George (Laverne) Huddy, Samuel (Kathrine) Huddy Sr. and Joshua (Emily) Huddy, sisters Sarah (Kaleihoku – deceased) Kuhaulua and Rachel Huddy, three grandsons, one granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His celebration of life is at Wailua Beach (Horners) to spread his ashes on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow in Kealia, at 2340 Kealia Rd., Kapa‘a, on the Kealia post office grounds.

Bryan T. Muranaka
Bryan T. Muranaka passed away after a short illness just before midnight on April 14, 2022. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by father Minoru (Barney) Muranaka, mother Eiko Senda Muranaka and brother-in-law Harry Hamamura.
He leaves behind daughter Jade Wong, son-in-law Elwin Wong, granddaughter Murci, siblings Amy (Kenneth) Higa, Carol Hamamura and Albert (Lynette) Muranaka, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts) or flowers. Anyone wishing to share pictures of him or any memorable times, write them down, give it a family member so it can be made into a book.
