HANALEI — The state Department of Transportation announced a right lane closure on Kuhio Highway in either direction between mile markers 1.2 and 2.2, Ohiki Road and Aku Road, Monday through Friday, April 25 to 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for drain clearing and cleaning.
A lane shift/narrowing on Kuhio Highway near mile marker 1.6, Hanalei Bridge to Hanalei town, will continue until further notice, for emergency traffic zone work due to Hanalei River erosion.
All county and state roadwork is subject to change and is weather permitting.
Kapa‘a
• The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LL C announced that portions of Mailihuna Road, Hau‘a‘ala Road and Kawaihau Road will be closed from Monday to Friday, April 25 to 29, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction. • A right lane closure of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction near mile marker 24.7, Kahiliholo Road, Monday through Friday, April 25 to 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming;
Wailua
• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road will take place Monday through Friday, April to 29, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for road and shoulder work;.
• A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 1.3, Kuhio Highway and Uhau‘iole Stream, Monday through Friday, April 25 to 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting;
Hanama‘ulu
• Sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanama‘ulu Road will be under short lane closures from Monday, April 25 to Friday, May 6, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to the DPW and Goodfellow Bros. LLC. The closures are necessary for improvements to pedestrian access to King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps. Safe walking routes for students, parents and pedestrians will be provided. This project is scheduled to be completed in June 2022. Waimea
• The DPW Roads Division announced that work will commence for portions of Maile Road, Ape Place and Ula Place in the Waimea Valley Estates subdivision Monday and Tuesday, April 25 and April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single-lane closures are anticipated.
