LIHU‘E — Island School’s Lucas Summerhays fired a one-under 71 to lead the Voyagers’ boys team victory Saturday during the second Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation match contested at the newly reopened Puakea Golf Course.
The Voyagers carded a team total 330 to claim the honor, followed by the Kaua‘i High boys finishing at 381 for second place. Waimea did not field a sufficient number of golfers for team consideration.
Girls on the course also did not have enough players for team consideration.
Samantha Murphy of Kaua‘i High led the wahine golfers with a 91, followed four strokes back by Island School’s Ema-Lani Ebesu, finishing with a 95.
With spring break, the KIF golfers move to Wailua Golf Course Saturday, March 26, when the first groups tee off starting at noon.
