LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced Saturday the champions of the individual events at the KIF Championship meet at the YWCA pool in Puhi are named to the KIF Swimming All-Stars for 2021-22.
Chloe Inouye of Island School is among the announced all-stars, setting two of the three new KIF records at the championship swim. Kaua‘i High School’s Jacob Rich set the third new KIF record.
Island School secured nine of the 10 listed positions, the exception being Kamaira Silva from Kaua‘i High School filling the last position in the girls 200-yard freestyle.
Inouye and Silva also represented the KIF at the M. Mark Takai Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships on Hawai‘i Island, where both girls medalled in their respective events.
Kaua‘i High boys filled in seven of the 11 positions, and Kapa‘a High boys filled four of the slots.
Among the Warriors, Tyler Tanaka, a two-position winner in the KIF All-stars, was one of two boys medalling at the state meet. The other state medalist was Kai Mottley from Kaua‘i High.

Boys
