LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i United Way’s Lynette Medrano-Stine said Tuesday that the contribution by employees of Enterprise Holdings, Inc. raised the group to the second-highest employee group givers. Enterprise Holdings includes Enterprise, Alamo and National car rentals.
Accepting the $30,174, Medrano-Stine said the contribution to the KUW 2021 campaign is comprised of employee pledges and fundraising efforts totalling $19,856. Additionally, the employees’ contributions were matched by the Enterprise Foundation 50 cents for each employee dollar contributed, for $10,318 more.
“We are tremendously grateful to the management team and associates of Enterprise Holdings, Inc. for achieving such a remarkable campaign, especially during a time of recovery from the effect of a global pandemic,” said Medrano-Stine, the KUW campaign development director. “The continuous support received from these wonderful people prove that they really care and have the very best interest for those in need on Kaua‘i.”
Timothy Takeshita, the Enterprise Group rental manager for Kaua‘i and a member of the KUW Board of Directors, led the charge to achieve the campaign that included 24 leadership donors, or those who each contributed more than $500.
“We’re just trying to do the best we can,” Takeshita said.
KUW is the island’s umbrella charitable organization.
One contribution — money raised on Kaua‘i, stays on Kaua‘i — helps the entire island. KUW’s participating agencies offer a diverse array of social-service programs that save lives daily and help tens of thousands of Kaua‘i people each year.
