James Thomas Coller
James Thomas Coller, of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, passed away at home on May 10, 2021, at the age of 66. Born in Quezon City, Philippines, he was a retired cook at the state Department of Public Safety and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by parents Richard and Alicia Coller, brothers Louis and Mark, and sister Margarite.
He is survived by brothers William (Roxanne) Coller of Kapa‘a and Patrick (Yukimi) Coller of Hilo, sisters Ann (Kevin) Arnold of Rochester, Minnesota, Katherine (Perry) Alisna of Kapa‘a, Susan (Dennis) Akutagawa of Kapa‘a, Claire (Robert Beck) Coller of Kapa‘a and Ruth (Mark) Forbes of Hilo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.

Ohai Tanigawa
Alicia Kekapuahilani Ohai Tanigawa passed away on Feb. 27, 2022, at the age of 93, in Waimea. She was born on July 13, 1928 on Kaua‘i. She was a secretary for the state of Hawai‘i.
She was preceded in death by husband Kanichi Tanigawa.
She is survived by sons Errol Tanigawa of Hanapepe and Eldon Tanigawa of Hanapepe, daughter Fay Mukai of California, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Virginia Vales Torres
Virginia Vales Torres passed away on Feb. 21, 2022, at the age of 98. She was born on Kaua‘i on July 3, 1923. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by mother Mary Sayas, father John Vales, sisters Emily Toledo, Carmen Rivera and Lucy Pacheco, and brothers John Vales, Tony Vales and William Vales.
She is survived by daughters Rose Bullard, Betty (Glenn Hernandez) Pacheco, Mary (John) Sadler, Jeannie Torres, Annette Torresm and Melissa (Rogelio) Torres-Lopez, sons Danward (Rita) Pacheco, Larry Pacheco and Stanley Torres, brother Henry Vales, 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 11, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary chapel in Koloa., with visitation from 9:30 a.m., services at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.
