Barteks take two in Senior Softball Saturday

LIHU‘E — Barteks was a double winner Saturday during the latest Kaua‘i Senior Softball league play under sunny conditions at both Puhi Park and the Pat Baniaga Field in Hanapepe.

Barteks took a 16-6 win over Kawaihau in a contest that was scheduled as league play at Hanapepe. They followed that victory with a 13-1 showing over Kuku’s Aces in a contest that was made up from an earlier rained-out contest.

Kawaihau ended up traveling to end the day with a split decision, dropping to Barteks in Hanapepe before moving to ‘Ele‘ele Park where they were 16-1 winners over West Kaua‘i.

Kuku’s Aces were also involved in double-header action, dropping both ends, 16-4 to the Bushwackas and 13-1 to Barteks in Hanapepe.

This Saturday’s contests move to the Wailua Houselots Park and ‘Ele‘ele Park, with action starting at 9 a.m. at both sites.
