LIHU‘E — Charlene Burgess, the Kaua‘i Rural Health Association secretary and board member, is encouraging community members and health-care providers who serve the rural needs of the island’s community to become a part of the KRHA.
LIHU‘E — Charlene Burgess, the Kaua‘i Rural Health Association secretary and board member, is encouraging community members and health-care providers who serve the rural needs of the island’s community to become a part of the KRHA.
Registration is done online through forms.gle/7q982C71AfLRAGy6, and applications must by completed by Oct. 22.
“Kaua‘i Rural Health Association’s membership drive is currently open, and membership fees have been waived this year for all members through June 30, 2022,” Burgess said. “We are a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to providing educational and professional networking to facilitate and continually improve the health network responsive to Kaua‘i’s community needs.”
Membership benefits include opportunities to advocate for rural health issues with decision-makers on local and state levels, participation in KRHA list-serve to stay informed of current issues and activities, reduced registration fee and opportunities for continuing education through KRHA activities, events and training, including the KHRA annual conference, and eligibility to serve on the KHRA board of directors.
In previous years, the KRHA has hosted educational conferences on topics ranging from the most-recent Developing Intentional Relationships with Youth, the opioid epidemic, vaping, and other health-related topics pertinent to providers.
The KRHA is a member of the Hawai‘i State Rural Health Association.
