KOLOA — On Sunday, Kaua‘i All Girls Rodeo Association held its final rodeo for the season.

Cassera Silva won first place on barrels with a time of 16.686.

Marti Snyder and Amber Kaonohi won dally team roping with a time of 29.99 in two goes.

Kim Madeiros won goat tying with a total time of 24.853 in two goes. She also had the overall best time of 9.91 in her first go. In pole bending, Silva took home another first with a time of 22.160.

The All Girls Rodeo Association has been active on Kaua‘i for over two decades.

“We decided all those years ago we were tired of sitting in our truck watching the guys rope. So, we decided to make our own rodeo and it has been very successful over the years,” Charlene Madeiros, rodeo secretary, said.

Participants performed in front of mostly empty stands. The event was not advertised like it is typically to keep guests at a minimum and comply with COVID-19 restrictions.
