Janice Bond, left, got to host Mark Perriello of the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, and Mark’s mom, Diana Ryder, to lunch on Friday at Duke’s Canoe Club (the real Duke’s birthday was Aug. 24) restaurant on Kalapaki Beach.

Congratulations to the Garden Isle Quilters: Julie Fregeau, Jeni Hardy, Lea Ingram, Lesley Morris and Toni Wass (she had a birthday on opening night!), on a great exhibit and sale (this was only their second event in two years) at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e!
