LIHU‘E — Mason Doo and Taylor Nishimoto, both graduates of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, were announced recipients of this year’s Kaua‘i United Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association scholarships of $1,000 each.
LIHU‘E — Mason Doo and Taylor Nishimoto, both graduates of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, were announced recipients of this year’s Kaua‘i United Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association scholarships of $1,000 each.
Mason, the son of Erin Takekuma and Bryan Doo, was presented his award during the Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission baccalaureate service last month. He will use the scholarship to help when he attends Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, starting this fall.
Taylor, the daughter of Leanne Nishimoto and Alan Liu, received her award from Shaku Arthur Kaufmann and Carol Valentine during the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission baccalaureate service late last month. She will be attending the University of Washington in Seattle in the fall.
