Mayette Loseto said the animals (pigs and chickens) got to her Thai guava (those are the white ones!), but she had a bunch of mountain apples (really good deal because there are so many of them), and the Forbidden Valley pineapples from Clyde Ajimura to make up for no guava at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi Saturday, where Clyde Kodani was talking about Sharyl Lam Yuen’s desire to see a bon dance (last weekend was the virtual Kauai Soto Zen Temple Zenshuji event in Hanapepe with Gerald Hirata!) take root at the Puhi venue.

Ferdinand Dosono’s Father’s Day was a separate tent for that oversized grill at Kaua‘i Kim Chee. How do you keep the dogs from the Dog Fanciers class from going crazy with all those delicious aromas?
Kudos to Darlene Chung, Brandon Yoshimoto and the McDonald’s restaurants’ ‘ohana for hosting the drive-up employment tents at both the Lihu‘e (Jeffery Bungcayao said it gets pretty busy with visitors, especially during breakfast!) and Waipouli branches to bolster its workforce, and Florence Gomez came over from the ‘Ele‘ele store to share the tent with Jeffrey Gambeng in Lihu‘e.
More employment opportunities presented themselves when Target Lihu‘e’s Koa Kubera (he’s from the Hilo store!) hosted a “Now Hiring” table Saturday at the Kukui Grove Center food court in Lihu‘e, where Bob and Lenore Klass vacated their usual table to check out the vehicles on exhibit with Harvey Maeda and the Kaua‘i Classic Cars. Kelvin Moniz had a full night of Triple K Strongmen Athletics 9-on-9 football Friday, but still had energy to help Harvey with all those prize giveaways for people donating to the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank.
