Damione Verdusco and Courtney Johnson of Coutured by Bjork at The Shops at Kukuiula welcome shoppers from The Farmers Market at The Shops, Wednesday to the world of high fashion and accessories where there are still deals on the rapidly-disappearing winter season.

Just how crowded was it?

Adam Coyaso was cracking coconuts non-stop (Mini Me was having a bad attitude because of his haircut, Christine said!), and that line for people looking for The Right Slice snaked under the eaves to beyond Blue Ginger at The Farmers Market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula (no wonder the Hawai‘i Foodbank, Kaua‘i Branch van left before the 3:30 p.m. start!).

That brought Sandy Poehnelt out in person to help out, and Mark Jones was wiped out of mangoes — early! — leaving him with only pineapple (it’s different from the Huber’s Sugarloaf!) to sell (good thing most of the shoppers didn’t want the crowns…more to replenish the crops).

Kudos to Stacie Chiba-Miguel (don’t forget to register — the Kuhio Auto Group has application packets! — for the Charity Walk Fishing Tournament coming up, Father’s Day weekend!) and Pillare Mukai for getting that Po‘ipu shopping destination ready (the Eating House 1849 got wiped out of its kalbi ribs, early, too!) for all those people…John and Anne Maxwell of Utah —they’re related to Wilder Grace of Haupu Outpost who spent the afternoon, napping!

Okay, more shopping experiences await as Melissia Sugai teams up with Melissa McFerrin-Warrack and The Kukui Grove Center team for a two-day Kaua‘i Made expo starting Friday and Saturday…don’t forget to take in Kumu Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza’s hula performance with her Halau Na Kaohikukapulani, Saturday starting at noon at the Food Court (did you see that new sign, yet?).

And, Patti Ragasa of the American Cancer Society presents a Relay for Life Pick Up and Pop Up, Saturday at the Coconut Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. headlined by Fely’s Angels, the Green Opihi, Sushi Bushido, Mana‘ola and Bobby V’s, Sign Art, and the Ho‘oikaika Volleyball Club, and more than 20 vendors — all to benefit the Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.
