Kimiye Oyasato, age 95, of Kalaheo, passed away on April 13, 2021, in Honolulu. She was born in Koloa and was a retired custodian at Kalaheo School.
She was preceded in death by husband George and son Jed Oyasato.
She is survived by daughter Norine H. Oyasato, brothers Kenji and Charles Uejo, and sister Elsie Arakaki.
A private service was held.
Nu‘uanu Memorial Park &Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Benita ‘Bening’ A. Fostanes
Benita “Bening” A. Fostanes passed away on May 8, 2021, at her residence, at the age of 79.
She was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on June 28, 1941.
She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Cy Fostanes.
She is survived by daughters Lilibeth “Lily,” Merceditas, Gina, Miriam and Nita (Patrick Nakaula) Fostanes, sons Michael (Rosario) Fostanes, Edgardo (Millie) Fostanes and Danilo (Luzviminda “Luzv”) Fostanes, and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, May 28, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary, with visitation from 9 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home in Kapaia. Due to COVID-19, limited seating is available. Social distancing and masks are required.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
