KAPA‘A — The ‘Ohana Rebels jumped to sole second place in the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League standings following its 20-1 win over Da Killas Saturday during the contests waged at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex that was crowded with ongoing matches from the community youth basketball league, tennis and pickleball, a birthday party in the main pavilion and the popular skate park.
Coached by Gary Yates, the ‘Ohana Rebels completed a sweep of its double-header with a convincing 24-9 win over Solid Steet. The ‘Ohana Rebels improve to 11-1 on the season.
The Keonimana Gents, losing a tight game 10-8 against Barteks, slipped to a tie for third place, both teams ending with an overall two-loss record.
The Rookies, coming off a solid 12-3 win over the Islanders, lead the standings with an undefeated 12-0 record.
Games in the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League continue Saturday with four games scheduled for Isenberg Park, home of the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s, and three games scheduled for the ‘Ele‘ele Park. First pitch at each field goes off at 9 a.m.
