WAIPOULI — Chef Judy Capertina of Haole Girl Bakery will be joined by at least two farmers Friday when the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach Resort opens the farmers’ market phase of their farmers’ market/craft fair from 3 to 5 p.m. in the resort’s parking lot.
Coordinating with the county’s Kaua‘i Made program, more than a dozen crafters will welcome shoppers on the Prince Kuhio Day holiday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the Daybreak semi-outdoor dining area, and MoaMoa fish house.
Barbara Gusman of the resort said this offering is part of an ongoing program where the farmer’s market and crafters set up in the resort once a month through the coordination with the Kaua‘i Made program.
“This is how the resort helps support the local small businesses,” Gusman said. “We’re offering them a place they can vend their locally-made products during this pandemic, where most of their locations have been shut down.”
The current health and safety guidelines of face masks and social distancing will be observed at the free-admission event.
Live entertainment will be on hand from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and happy hour takes place at the Crooked Surf from 2 to 6 p.m., where kama‘aina get a discount.
