Edelina Alejandro passed away on Feb. 7, 2021, at the age of 77 at Garden Isle Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born in Philippines on Nov. 19, 1943.
She was retired.
She was preceded in death by husband Leonardo Alejandro.
Survived by daughters Leo (Billy) Blackstad and Pauline (Sean) Sakai, son Lenard (Kalei) Alejandro, sisters Lita Alejandro and Nellie Velasco, grandchildren Shantell Sakai, Sheldon Sakai, Kiare Machado, Derek Louis, Leiana Alejandro, Noah Alejandro, Kayla Blackstad and Kairah Alejandro, and great-grandchildren Sianni Sakai, Wally Rita, Leon Machado, Wailea Rita, Kian Machado and Karsen Peahu.
A celebration of life will be private.

Helen Anne Knudsen Callahan
“Auntie” Helen Anne Knudsen Callahan, age 60, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at her residence on Feb. 21, 2021.
She was preceded in death by husband Darrick Callahan and father Eric Lewis Knudsen.
She is survived by her loving mother Nancy Austin (Robert) Tracy, sisters Maile Knudsen (Barry) Nelson and Anne Knudsen (Steve) Temme, nephews Austin Lewis (Andrea) Knudsen and Collin, friend William Brown, caretaker Anne Chipchase, and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
She will be laid to rest at O‘ahu Cemetery (also known as Nu‘uanu Cemetery) in Honolulu alongside her ancestors during a private service.
A celebration of life will take place on Kaua‘i. An announcement will be made once a date and time are determined.
Harry Yasuo Higashi Jr.
Harry Yasuo Higashi Jr. passed away on June 11, 2019, at the age of 66, in Hanama‘ulu.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1953, in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by father Harry Yasuo Higashi Sr., mother Michiko Patsy Higashi, brother Boyd Higashi, sister Lynn Ajimura-Lee, grandmother Katsuyo Miyabara, and nephew Lambert Lukela Alapa‘i.
He is survived by brother Buddy Higashi, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date on O‘ahu.

Mathews Zacarias ‘Roots’ Kalani
Mathews Zacarias “Roots” Kalani passed away on March 7, 2020, at the age of 58, in Honolulu. He was born on Oct. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, and was a wastewater treatment operator for Aqua Engineers Inc. He also was a member of a motorcycle club called The Ali‘i of Hawaii M/C (Kaua‘i Chapter). He was a giving soul who was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by parents James “Bla” Kalani of Hilo and Veronica Manabat Kalani of Wailua, brothers Ben Pa‘aluhi and Hilarion “Boobie” Kalani, and sister Ida Manabat.
He is survived by spouse Lynn Prem and daughter Mattie-Lynn Prem-Kalani, both of Kapa‘a, daughter “Vernie Dew” (Vernie Price) Kalani of Muncie, Indiana, daughter Tierra Kalani Rodriguez of National City, California, son Johnathan Pegg of Hemet, California, and grandchildren Kaleia and Isaiah Price of Muncie, Indiana, Leianani Rodriguez of National City, California, mother-in-law Lisa “Mada Goose” Higa, brothers James “Kimo” Kalani, Anthony “Tony” Kalani, Leonard Kalani, Solomon Fu, Solomon Kalani and Akoni Daligdig, sisters Leiolani Kalani, Angela Kalani, Jaime Kalani, Jasmine Kalani, Pua Prem, Malisa Daligdig and Rebecca, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Due to COVID-19, a private, one-year celebration will be held at a later date. Restrictions caused many cancellations of services.
Borthwick Mortuary Kaua‘i and O‘ahu are assisting the Prem and Kalani families with all his arrangements.
Francis R.M.K. Lee
Francis R.M.K Lee passed away peacefully. He was born on Aug. 5, 1948, in Honolulu.
He was a house husband.
He is survived by wife Patti Lee, son Francis (Winnie) Lee Jr. of Portland, Oregon, daughter Chelse (Victor) Lee of Las Vegas, grandchild Kaya Lee, and sister Toni Lee of Las Vegas.
Services will be held at a later date.
