Scaled-down Waimea Town Celebration is on

WAIMEA — The 44th annual Waimea Town Celebration is much smaller this year, for obvious reasons, but still kicks off Monday, Feb. 15, with the Waimea Film Festival — Hawai‘i International Film Festival Hana Hou at the Historic Waimea Theatre.

The day of films runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and includes several full-length and short showings.

Other events of the festival take place from Thursday through Saturday, and include familiar events like a mini ho‘olaule‘a with live entertainment Friday, and the hat lei and ‘ukulele contests and second night of the ho‘olaule‘a Saturday.

See B5 for the complete line up.

Events are being held at the Historic Waimea Theatre and via Facebook LIVE at WaimeaTownCelebration.com

Face masks, social distancing and temperature checks are required.

  1. I saw a Vampire once February 14, 2021 5:23 am Reply

I think that is excellent news for this small town. Celebrating. I think the town could use a few breathing room. After 11 months of stay at home for most of them, as my code name suggest, they all look like Vampires. It is good that they take some sun and vitamin D’s into their bodies. Relax and unwind. I’ll have a Diet Pepsi and a Hot dog for lunch and everything on it. Yummy. Happy celebrations.
