Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday closures announced
LIHU‘E — In observance of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday Monday, Jan. 18, County of Kaua‘i offices will be closed, along with the Kekaha Landfill, all refuse transfer stations, Puhi Metals Recycling Center and all the neighborhood centers.
The Kapa‘a and Waimea swimming pools, which are generally closed on Mondays, will observe the holiday on Tuesday, Jan. 19, and will resume regular hours on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
All the HI-5 bottle redemption centers will also be closed on the holiday.
The schedule for residential refuse pick-up remains unchanged.
The Kaua‘i Bus will be operating on its regular schedule.
Regular business hours for county offices and services will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The day is also a state and federal holiday, so most state and federal offices will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery.
