Work scheduled for Uhelekawawa Canal Bridge in Kapa‘a

KAPA‘A — The county Department of Public Works announced that construction work on the Uhelekawawa Canal Bridge in Kapa‘a is scheduled from Monday, Jan. 11 to Friday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

Work includes various bridge repairs and upgrades, resurfacing and pavement work, vegetation removal and erosion and traffic control.

Starting Monday, Jan. 11, crews will begin erosion-control measures. Lane closures are expected to start on Tuesday, Jan. 26. One lane of Kuhio Highway near Waipouli Beach Resort will be closed during construction and may cause delays.
