Brooke Sugahara of The Dolphin is excited to announce the reopening of The Dolphin Fish Market and Dine In. The fish market is open from noon to 5:30 p.m., and dine-in is available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.

The chocolate persimmon from Lanipo Farms is ready to be scooped up and added to oatmeal, yogurt and other food for the chocolate taste with the abundance of nutrients available from persimmons. Isobel Storch, who used it for chocolate persimmon cake during last week’s farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula said you can also eat the fruit as is, using a spoon to scoop out the good stuff.

Artist Patrice Pendarvis shows off one of her rice-paper creations that is on exhibit at the Kau‘i Society of Artists 2020 small works BIG SHOW that concludes today at 7 p.m. the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.

Patrice Pendarvis (the puppies were at home during her gallery-sitting stint) said working with the ripped rice paper (a departure from her watercolor rendering of local lifestyle) is like reverse painting.
