Wailua man held on $100,000 bail

LIHU‘E — A Wailua man’s bail was set at $100,000 at his Monday morning hearing in Fifth Circuit Court.

Ryan Lindstedt, 42, faces 23 separate felony charges after being apprehended by Kaua‘i Police Department officers on July 8.

During the hearing, Judge Randal Valenciano accepted the state’s recommendation after the bail study didn’t recommend supervised release for Lindstedt.

Lindstedt was transported to the intake service center last week.

Lindstedt was arrested July 6 after he allegedly broke into a gated home and was found to be in possession of a semiautomatic assault pistol.

Lindstedt faces charges of criminal trespass in the first degree, possession of a firearm, 22 counts of unlawful ownership of a firearm, and ownership of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Valenciano learned Lindstedt is being held on two separate cases, but didn’t go into details about the other case at Monday’s hearing.

Lindstedt’s case will be continued at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
