If prisoners are excluded from the Covid count but the guards come and go — do the guards self-isolate at home when not on the job? Having worked all day near an infected population, surely they should be required to self-isolate? What about their families?
That is a good point to make. Mayor Caldwell is exercising his rights as a mayor. Without any vaccines, those prisoners will die in prison of COVID-19. And those people will never get to see their loved ones again. Having compassion on these prisoners is a touching subject because I didn’t feel anybody was paying attention to this issue. But this is so. I agree with Mayor Caldwell’s decision. There won’t be enough vaccines to go around for the greater public wanting in on this vaccine. The Moderna.
