Lawa‘i Road water service shutdown scheduled

KUKUI‘ULA — The county Department of Water has scheduled a water service shutdown on a portion of Lawai Road, from Ho‘ona Road to the west end of Lawa‘i Road, Amio Road and Alania Road in Kukui‘ula, Po’ipu, on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather-permitting.

The shutdown is necessary in order to replace a service lateral and conduct waterline improvements in the area.

Customers located in the affected area should prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps:

• Store enough water to meet needs until water service can be restored;

• Notify neighbors, family and friends of the service shutdown;

• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their heaters do not empty;

• Businesses should prepare accordingly for the shutdown.
