The Solid Waste Division is glad to announce that a new shipment of Earth Machine Home Compost bins has arrived and are available to residents free of charge at the Kaua‘i Resource Center located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Lihu‘e.
The Solid Waste Division is glad to announce that a new shipment of Earth Machine Home Compost bins has arrived and are available to residents free of charge at the Kaua‘i Resource Center located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Lihu‘e.
Due to COVID-19 distancing protocol, bins are available by appointment only at this time. To set up an appointment to receive a composting bin, please email solidwaste@kauai.gov or call 241-4841.
Bins are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Earth Machine Compost bins are for residential use only and are meant to manage kitchen scraps and a small amount of yard waste. Distribution is one bin per home. Large landowners, businesses, non-profits, and farm operations should consider creating compost bins and piles out of reusable supplies such as pallets or old tarps.
