On accusations of tampering with the election
In her recent letter (The Garden Island, Nov. 1), Janet Eisenbach asks several pointed questions, for which she certainly deserves better replies than she claims to have received from election officials. In the spirit of reciprocity, I have a few questions for her.
In her antepenultimate paragraph she writes, “ … I know that there are plenty of unscrupulous people who would do anything to steal this election.”
How does she know this? Has she been blessed with insight unavailable to benighted mortals like myself, to discern the thoughts and intentions of the human mind? Does this enable her to identify these legions of would-be fraudsters?
If it does, she would do the community and the nation a great service by pointing them out so that they can be swiftly and deservedly apprehended.
