The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay recently presented the Northshore Food Pantry with a $5,000 donation to assist in its weekly food distribution.
Each Saturday between 1 and 3 p.m., the pantry van can be found at the Anaina Hou Community Park in Kilauea, distributing to all those who are in need.
Marcia King, manager of the Northshore Food Pantry, said more and more of residents are arriving for their services. Basic food items are distributed, including fresh meat and, on various other weeks, toiletries, dog and cat food are also distributed. Once a month they provide a service of applying flea and tick treatment to pets.
The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay meets on ZOOM each Thursday between noon and 1 p.m. For more information, see hanaleirotary.org.
