Tommy Noyes of the Kaua‘i Path said the bicycle shortage should be easing up (do you see some of the newer fancy bikes out there) soon, and Angelo Catiggay (no, he wasn’t part of the Bunny Rabbits and Turtles group) was part of the August Bikes on Rice, where eBikes are starting to make their appearance. Rich McKeever (we’ll see if this shows up on the Google search) made the trek in from the North Shore, and Audrey Valenciano was tooling around on the Westside, earlier in the day. How many miles?
Retired Kaua‘i Community College Chancellor Helen Cox and John Latkiewicz were out at the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula (it used to be the Kaua‘i Culinary Market), where Pillare Mukai was putting in steps to check on items for the food distribution (yep, the nonperishables are already in storage) coming up this afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m.
Stacie Chiba-Miguel said Merriman’s Fish House (they were in a meeting) is doing a pop-up grill today starting at 4 p.m., Dr. Francis Takahashi said he already has reservations, and Latitudes was pulling in a lot of foot traffic because of that Wailua Falls aerial (what are those trees anyway?) next to the Lanipo Farms (Isobel Storch said Florence Toyofuku of Tiny’s Takuan is safe at farm school) table.
OK, time to go check out the food distribution sponsored by Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, Hawai‘i Travel &Lodging Association Kaua‘i branch and The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
