LIHU‘E– Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative has extended its suspension of service disconnections through July 31.
“Some members continue to face severe financial challenges,” said KIUC’s President and Chief Executive Officer, David Bissell. “We’re working individually with customers who have concerns and will continue to reevaluate the situation as we move forward.”
The suspension of service disconnection will apply to both residential and commercial customers. KIUC members are reminded that bill payments have not been waived, and past-due amounts will grow over time if no payments are made.
Members with concerns about the status of their account are encouraged to call the Member Services department at 246-4300 during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by email at email@example.com. There are energy assistance programs available for qualified members. More information on these programs can be found in the COVID-19 section on the KIUC homepage at www.kiuc.coop.
The KIUC Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 5 p.m. Members may attend the meeting via Zoom or watch it live on Ho‘ike Kaua‘i Community Television, Spectrum channel 53. A Zoom registration link may be found on KIUC’s website.
Members wishing to have questions addressed during the meeting must email their question to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than noon on Tuesday, July 21.
All members registered via Zoom will be entered into a drawing for $100 gift cards to local retailers. Other members may register for the drawing by calling 246-4300. Members must be registered for the drawing no later than noon on Wednesday, July 22.
