Girl Scout cookies — just in time for Father’s Day — mahalo, Josie Cortez of the Rotary Club of Kapa‘a, and Angela Hoover of the Girl Scouts, for making the special treats possible in the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort & Beach Club associates’ food packages. Kudos to Randy Francisco (Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce), the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i (Laycie Love was hurrying so she could go camping and trout fishing), the credit unions of Kaua‘i (rock star Myrvie Buster even squeezed in a Back to School Bash — it’s coming, July 18 — organizational meeting between packing and passing out food), and the East Kaua‘i Lions Club (kudos to Janice Bond, who was installed as the club’s new president following the distribution) and kudos to Kelvin Moniz and the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank ‘ohana, and the resort’s Chuck Brady and his crew of hard-working associates.
