Collette said she’s found most of the material (even the rare red rope) used in her pieces from daily walks at a beach where the surf break Kitchens is located, on the Eastside, and the area behind Wailua Golf Course. Abigail Boroughs took over gallery-sitting duty Monday for the show that runs through June 26.
Barbara Oki was running out of time to get rid of her final two bento box lunches, and what a surprise to see Averie Soto on her way to Premier Martial Arts, and David and Hua Duncan scored the only table available at Sone’s (that place has been pretty busy).
Meanwhile, this weekend is Father’s Day, and Christina Ensman of Operation Christmas Child said there will be a Father’s Day distribution (the Mother’s Day distribution was pretty good last month), Saturday starting at 9 a.m., at the Breath of Life Church in the Rice Shopping Center on Rice Street in Lihu‘e.
Unfortunately, Commodore Fred Styer of the Nawiliwili Yacht Club said there will be no Father’s Day Keiki Fishing Tournament this year because of the COVID pandemic.
