Each year, the chamber offers college scholarships for graduating seniors, funded primarily from proceeds from an annual golf tournament. The intent of the scholarships is to inspire and support a new generation of business leaders for the island.
Because of COVID-19, the golf tournament has been postponed, leaving the chamber with no funds for the 2020 scholarship program.
The chamber board and staff felt it was important to support the class of 2020 regardless. Through the generosity of Corteva Agriscience and Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative, a scholarship fund has been established for 2020.
High school seniors wishing to apply must complete applications, available by calling 245-7363, and mailing them to the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, at PO Box 1969, Lihu‘e, HI 96766. Applications must be postmarked by Thursday, April 30.
