LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Education Association announced the availability of around a dozen scholarships for students at various levels of their educations, with the potential of receiving up to $2,000 to go toward higher education.
The organization aims to strengthen excellence in education and to support Hawai‘i’s professionals and educators.
Scholarships available:
• Two scholarships, $2,000 each, for high school seniors who are HEA members or are members’ children or grandchildren;
• Two scholarships, $1,000 each, for continuing college students who are HEA members or are members’ children or grandchildren;
• Two scholarships, $2,000 each, for in-service public educators;
• Unspecified number of scholarships, up to $3,000 each, for Ronald K. Toma professional development for in-service educators;
• Two scholarships, $2,000 each, for student teachers sponsored by the Helen MacKay Memorial;
• Hiroshi & Barbara Kim Yamashita HEA Scholarship, one, $2,000 scholarship for college students majoring in education.
The deadline to submit most scholarship applications is April 1.
The student teacher scholarship deadline is June 15.
