LIHUE — Kauai residents can learn more about the Democratic Party of Hawaii’s party-run presidential primary and ranked-choice voting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lihue Civic Center, Mo‘ikeha Building first-floor conference room.
FairVote, a non-partisan advocate for electoral reforms, is holding an educational workshop on how ranked-choice voting works and why FairVote believes it gives voters greater choice and a stronger voice.
The Democratic Party of Hawaii’s party-run presidential primary is Hawaii’s opportunity to impact the selection of the Democratic Party nominee for the General Election presidential race.
The PPP determines the allocation of Hawaii delegates committed to a presidential candidate and who are sent to the Democratic National Convention in July where the Democratic presidential nominee will be determined through a delegate count.
All enrolled members of the Democratic Party of Hawaii who are registered to vote can participate in the PPP, which begins with the mailing of ballots in early March to the culmination of walk-in/in-person voting on Saturday, April 4.
For the 2020 PPP, the DPH has developed a vote-by-mail plan approved by the Democratic National Committee, which includes voting for the top three presidential candidates with ranked-choice voting.

I like the term “Opportunity to impact the selection of the Democratic nominee” like the party will listen to individuals. Remember last election when Hawaii votes overwhelmingly endorsed Bernie Sanders yet our delegates ignored the people and endorsed Hillary. Will that happen again? Both parties are after their own agenda and don’t care about the voters.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO VOTE DEMOCRAT, DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING WHEN NOTHING CHANGES. YOU GET WHAT YOU VOTE FOR.
No need to learn anything about Demorats. We already have all the proof we need to ignore them until they go away.
Democrat led initiatives got us where? Why vote for more of the same?
Good lord, as if the Hawaii Democratic Party listens to anyone other than local Japanese.
But Democrats are all we know. Why is that?
Is Linda still here…?
