A celebration organized by Kohola Leo to welcome the whales is set for 4 p.m. Saturday at Kealia point lookout bluff.
There will be music, poetry, chants and stories as people share thoughts and feelings about the humpback whales that return to Hawaii’s waters.
The marine mammals leave their feeding grounds in Alaska in late fall and early winter for breeding in warmer southern waters of Hawaii, Mexico and southern Japan.
All are welcome.
